This\u00a0makes my\u00a0life easier, especially if you have very little linux experience. Here is how to install it manually:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Use Putty to SSH to your vm<\/li>\n<li>Logon as root\/root and run these commands:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Notes:<\/p>\n<p>a. The path where\u00a0wget resides may be different in your server.<\/p>\n<p>b. Download the latest version of webmin.<\/p>\n<pre>cd \/root\r\n\/usr\/sfw\/bin\/wget http:\/\/prdownloads.sourceforge.net\/webadmin\/webmin-1.480.tar.gz\r\ngunzip webmin-1.480.tar.gz\r\ntar xf webmin-1.480.tar\r\ncd webmin-1.480\r\nsudo .\/setup.sh \/usr\/local\/webmin<\/pre>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>A setup program runs now. Basically I accepted all options as default (just keep pressing enter!)<\/li>\n<li>At one point it will ask for a username and password. I left the username as admin and entered a password (twice)<\/li>\n<li>I\u00a0also allowed it to start webmin at system startup.<\/li>\n<li>Press y and enter<\/li>\n<li>That\u2019s it!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Note: I use the tar file (NOT the deb file for webmin for Debian Linux). I wasted a few hrs trying to fix the dependencies. Then I broke down and used the tar. Works fine! No issues<\/p>\n<p>Now go to <a title=\"http:\/\/server-name:10000\" href=\"http:\/\/server-name:10000\" rel=\"nofollow\">http:\/\/server-name:10000<\/a> and logon with the name and password you entered previously.<\/p>\n<p>Note:\u00a0I am using an old version of webmin here. I have seen that new versions of webmin dont work properly on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS server.
